Capitalist has recorded three wins from as many race starts, but co-trainer Peter Snowden believes that the talented colt will face the toughest test of his racing career to date in the 2016 Todman Stakes at Royal Randwick on Saturday.

Capitalist made his racing debut with an impressive win in the Listed Breeders Plate (1000m) at Royal Randwick on October 3 and he cemented his status as a leading Golden Slipper contender with wins in the Wyong Magic Millions Classic (1100m) on December 17 and the $2 million Magic Millions Classic (1200m) at the Gold Coast on January 9.
Snowden told Sky Racing HQ that Capitalist has done nothing wrong during his racing career to date, but he admits that the Written Tycoon colt will face a whole other challenge in the Todman Stakes this weekend.
âThis Saturday is a big test for him,â Snowden said.
âIt is only a small field, but it has three of the best colts going around and it is going to be the biggest test of his ability.
âWe are confident that he will run well.â
While Snowden admits that Capitalist faces a tough test in the Todman Stakes on Saturday, he is still very happy with the physical condition of the two-year-old.
Snowden said that a couple of stints in the spelling paddock has helped Capitalist stay up during his two-year-old preparation and he remains confident that the colt will run well this weekend before he presses on to the 2016 Golden Slipper Stakes in a fortnight.
âHe worked well this morning and he is ready to run on Saturday,â Snowden said.
âHe has been out a couple of times in between â he has only had three starts, but he has had two spells in that time.
âHe has been looked after well, but he is a great stable horse, he is a good-natured horse and he just adapts to everything we have asked him to do.
âIf he runs well on Saturday he has a bigger one in a fortnight and it has all been pointed towards that race.â
Snowden is chasing his second win in the Todman Stakes after winning the 2014 edition of the race with Ghibellines.
Capitalist is currently available at 2016 Golden Slipper odds of $4.20 with Ladbrokes and he is on the second line of betting behind Blue Diamond Stakes winner Extreme Choice ($4).
